Pakistan's general election will be held on July 25 this year, state TV television network (PTV) said.
On Saturday, PTV announced the decision of the country's President Mamnoon Hussain to be submitted to the Election Commission, according to Don.com.
Dawn reported that the Pakistan Election Commission (ECP) in the last week of last week sent a document containing a proposal to hold a general election from July 25 to July 27 on a date to President Mamnoon.
According to the election law of Pakistan, the President of the President of the Election Commission's announcement of the date of election as suggested by the Election Commission.
The term of Pakistan National Assembly for five years ended on May 31 this year. Besides, the term of the provincial assembly of Punjab is also ended on the same day. On the other hand, the provincial council of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will end on May 28 this year.
According to the Constitution of Pakistan, the national and provincial councils have the obligation to hold elections within 60 days after the expiry of their term.
